Derry / Londonderry

Regular coach services linking Derry/L’Derry to Dublin Airport & City Centre via Belfast International Airport

Derry/Londonderry is a hidden gem of a city that has a vibrant atmosphere and lots to offer someone looking for a new place to explore, or an interesting day out! Getting there with Aircoach on the 705X offers a cost effective, comfortable and convenient way to get to the city. Once we've dropped you at the Foyleside Coach Park, you'll find yourself in the centre of a city that has many fascinating cultural delights to explore, all within a short walking distance. Nicknamed 'The Walled City', Derry/Londonderry is home to the last intact city wall in Ireland. Visitors can tour the walls, which date to over 400 years old, and are just a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. There are also spectacular views available from the iconic Peace Bridge along the River Foyle.

Near to the Peace Bridge is the Guildhall and the Tower Museum. The Guildhall is one of the city's best known landmarks, and from Guildhall Square at the front of the building you can see the hall's famous stained-glass windows. These windows depict some of the history and people of the city. In the Tower Museum next to the Guildhall you can learn all about La Trinidad Valencera. This was one of the largest ships in the Spanish Armada, which sank in 1588 off the coast of Kinnagoe Bay. The museum also hosts a permanent exhibition about the history of the city, a must for anyone with an interest in the rich past of the area.

If you're in the mood for a gig or want to check out a play, near to the Tower Museum is the Millennium Forum Theatre, on Newmarket Street. It regularly hosts shows and gigs of all kinds from comedy to musicals, as well as music gigs. It also boasts the largest theatre stage in Ireland! In recent years the city of Derry/Londonderry has itself become something of a stage, as the hometown of the award-winning Derry Girls. Walking tours are available to some of the locations featured in the 90's-set sitcom; plans have also recently been unveiled for a new immersive exhibition featuring sets, props and memorabilia from the show, opening at the Tower Museum from summer 2023.

And whilst the Derry Girls favourite food may have been limited to such culinary delights as the Tayto cheese and onion sandwich and chicken ball special, the Walled City has a huge choice of restaurants, bars and breweries to savour during a stay here, with well over 100 eateries to choose from, to suit every taste and budget.

Whether it is a day trip or a longer stay, there is so much to explore and enjoy in this unique city. The Aircoach 705X from Dublin City and Airport and Belfast International Airport provides comfortable reclining chairs, free WiFi, recharging points and footrests. With 12 daily each-way Express connections, you will be ensured an effortless commute as you travel to Derry/Londonderry.
